Data Center 2025: Distributed edge meets a distributed grid
novembre 07, 2019
Webinar
Listen to the on demand version

The results of the landmark Data Center 2025 survey from Vertiv revealed that the number of edge sites is set to triple by 2025. At the same time, the survey also revealed that the more than 800 respondents were optimistic about the use of renewables in the data center (although more pragmatic than when the survey was done in 2014). With both compute and energy generation becoming more disaggregated, there will be challenges and opportunities for data center operators (colocation, cloud and enterprise) in the future in terms of managing continuity of supply while controlling carbon emissions and energy costs.

Join experts from Vertiv for an in-depth discussion on the future of data center and telecoms energy management. Topics covered will include:

  • Use of renewables on-site and via the grid (including power purchase agreements)
  • How to power edge compute using an increasingly distributed grid.
  • The role of energy storage in the future energy grid and how data center operators can get benefit.
