Liebert OFC - Oil-Free Centrifugal Chiller

The Vertiv™ Liebert® OFC is a range of chillers based on the oil-free magnetic levitation compressor technology, specifically designed for the data center application. Available in air-cooled, water-cooled, or air-cooled freecooling versions, these chillers are suitable for all data center configurations and the different climate conditions around the world.

Benefits

Efficiency: The Oil-Free magnetic levitation centrifugal compressor is nowadays one of the most efficient type of compressor available on the market and it allows a reduction in annual energy usage from 20% to 50% compared to a traditional screw or scroll compressor technology.   Specifically Design for the Data Center: with the aim of ensuring maximum cooling continuity, all versions of Liebert OFC are available with the Fast Restart function, which allows the chiller to restart quickly after a power outage, and to decrease the costs related to the buffer tank sizing.   Environmental Friendly HFO ready: Liebert OFC drastically reduces direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions.On one side, the extraordinary efficiency of the units allows to cut the consumption of electricity and subsequent CO2 emissions. On the other side all versions are available with the new HFO R1234ze refrigerant, which guarantees GWP close to zero.   Ultra Quiet: noise is always an important aspect especially when data centers are located in city centers.Thanks to the absence of friction and vibration granted by the Oil-Free centrifugal compressor, the Liebert OFC is 6-7 dB more silent than an equivalent unit with scroll or screw compressor.

Features

EC Fans: allow to maximize efficiencyacross the entire operating field.   Micro-channel condenser: used in the air-cooled range to maximize performance, reduce weight and minimize refrigerant charge.   Shell and tube condenser:designed for the water-cooled version to increase heat transfer.   Freecooling finned coils: completely integrated into condenser module to have the best efficiency with the lowest possible footprint.   Oil-Freemagnetic levitation VSD centrifugal compressor:cutting-edge technology of magnetic bearings completely remove the friction among the mechanical rotating parts, resulting in silent running, whilst ensuring constant unit performances over time.   Flooded evaporator:specifically designed to minimize the thermal approach between refrigerant and water/glycol, allowing to increase the cooling capacity and cut the overall power consumption.   Electrical panel: configurable to ensure the best reliability and cooling continuity even after a power outage. Among the available options are: ATS , dual powersupply, power factor capacitor, ultracapfor control.
